I did it......

Today I went back to the gym, I did 10 minutes on the bike, and 10 minutes on the treadmill, it was ok while doing it, but this afternoon and tonight, will be the telling point. If it all goes well, I hope to go back tomorrow. I felt embarrassed going back, cause of my weight gain, and also felt pathetic cause I only could do 10 Minutes on each - but hey got to start back somewhere. I may even add a few lower body exercises tomorrow, but I need to PACE myself. I am also going back to proper lower carb today, food has been out of control again. But I need to lose weight, I can feel the gain in my back and general self, not good :(.

The air fryer is going really well, have used it for bacon, steak, and other things, which I cant think of right now lol.

Thats it, short and sweet :)

Changes....

Been to the hand therapist on Tuesday and she feels waiting to June for the specialist appointment and then the surgery after that, is too risky on the other tendons. So I have put my 100% faith in her and she has recommended some surgeons in Hamilton that will be able to see me quicker, so am just waiting to hear, we hope to have an appointment in March and hopefully surgery in April.

In the meantime, she has made me this little splint, to try and stop the tendons getting even worse.....

They will be removing the plate and screws in my wrist, and then she thinks they will use the second tendon that we have in the index finger and move that to the middle finger that is ruptured and then they will have to somehow tidy or remove the tendon that is ruptured (I think) lol. There will be 4 - 5 lots of cuts/stitches - they will reopen the scar that I already have for the removal, and then a cut on the index and middle finger, and then on the hand, where one end of the tendon is and then on the arm, where the other tendon is. There is a risk with the removal of the hardware, like the CRPS coming back, more nerve damage, especially as it has been in there nearly 8 years, but have no option but to get it removed.

At the moment the pain is getting worse, so will be glad to get it done. She did say I could go to the gym and do the bike and treadmill and possibly the elliptical and lower body, providing it doesn't involve any use of the left hand, changing weights etc.

Last week we purchased an air-fryer, got this one.... It is the Phillips XXL air-fryer. We got it from TVSN as they had the cheapest and also got the baking kit free.

So far everything we have cooked as turned out good.

Oh wow just looked out the ranch slider and it is raining, well drizzling - we really need this weather. Oh forget that, its stopped already.

Anyway thats it for now, catch you all later :)

Finally and Weigh In......

First off finally, I have my car back so yesterday we went to the Farmers Market in Tauranga, and then through to katiKati to see my dad. Oh and the Dutch Shop to get some cheese etc, we didn't buy junk food for a change, but did buy fruit and lots of it, thats one thing I miss being in Rotorua, is we just dont get the fresh and in most cases lovely organic fruit. I know doing low carb you are not supposed to have fruit, but that is why I am doing lower carb, so that I can have fruit (but I do try to moderate how much I have in a day).

Having just said we didn't buy junk food yesterday, this weeks food has not been the greatest, this week, not sugar wise, but carb wise. we had Hells Pizza one night for dinner, Subway another night and KFC one night, I cant remember if we have ever had that many takeaways ever in a week, except on holiday, oh and we had dinner out one night.... so the scales showed it, by staying exactly the same as last week. I think I was lucky lol.

Having the day out yesterday, did my hand no good, the pain last night and this morning is just out of this world at time, the good thing it is not constant pain, but when it hits, I just about jump out of the chair, bit it disappears just as quick. I didn't even drive, David did the driving.

Today will be a relaxing day, did have a set of nails to do, but that was cancelled........

So thats it for now, am looking forward to having lunch with Lee-Anne, later in the week :).

GGGRRRRRRR again...

Just a quick post, no bloody car yet, wont be ready now till Friday midday, I was so looking forward to a day trip today. David goes back to work Monday, so for 2 weeks, we did nothing.

At this stage there will not be an Aussie trip, as we have no idea when surgery will be, all I know is it is getting frustrating, and I cant do anymore than 2 sets of nails a day and then they have to be an hour apart. Tomorrow I have 3 sets, and that will be the last time I do 3 sets as it is just to painful at night otherwise. The good thing is I should be able to go to the NZ Hair and Beauty Expo, we are normally in Aussie when we go, thats assuming surgery isn't right before it.

So gym prob wont start again now till Monday.......

My thoughts are with the Nelson area, thinking of you all affected by the fires - hope the weather is in your favour today and they can control the fires.

Anyway today is a public holiday, Waitangi Day, so enjoy everyone :)

Official Weekly Weigh In.......

Offical weekly weigh in, and have lost 1.6 Kilos this week. Am stoked, been on track about 90 - 95% of the time, and the times I wasn't I didn't binge on sugary, carb foods.

I am going crazy, being at home. Cant wait to get my car back, we were saying last night, that it was well before Christmas, that I actually travelled further than 10K's from home. It will be just under a month, that the accident happened, roll on Tuesday. Think we are going out for dinner tonight.

I will be seeing a hand therapist soon, that will be good, so she can guide me on what I can and cant do between now and surgery. It is the same therapist that saw me when I had the distal radius surgery back in 2011. Because my eating has changed, I am feeling so much more energetic, and am wanting to get back to the gym. Hopefully that will be Wednesday, even if I just bike and do the treadmill, it will do me good to get out, I am becoming comfortable not leaving the house and that is not good for me.

I have been feeling a bit down, as only a few weeks ago (when I thought I had a cyst and it would be an easy recovery), I was thinking that doing nails full time was going to be happen over the next few months, but now that wont be happening for a long time, I am not taking on any new clients at the moment, cause I dont want to let the new clients down, when I do have surgery and might need to take 3 months off.

Anyway thats it for now, was lovely yesterday weather wise, nice and cool but today is starting to get muggy again..... at least we are not as hot as the previous few days :).
