Day 54 & 55 on WW......

SATURDAY/SUNDAY:

Ok, lets go back to Friday night, well more late afternoon - I had the most horrific pain I have experienced in years, in my hand where the ruptured tendon end is sitting, must have been by a nerve or something, for about 5 hours, every couple of minutes it would spasm and OMG it had me in tears and swearing, it would last anything from a minute to 5 minutes, then I would have a small break and it would happen again. I have not felt this type of pain since I got first diagnosed with CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome). I have no idea what started it, it stopped about 5 hours later as quick as it started. It took so much out of me, and I hope to god it never happens again. 

Saturday morning I had a client, I was beginning to think I might have had to postpone, but like I said it had stopped as quick as it started. It happened a couple more times on Saturday but only lasted 1 or 2 spasms. I have no idea what caused this like I said, but am wondering if I am overdoing it.......

Today is Sunday and I was planning on the gym, but to be honest I just wasn't having it.... it is wet and miserable outside.

Steph my daughter stayed last night, she is heading off to Auckland in 4 weeks, she has had a stressful 6 months and really needs to have a fresh start, and the time for her to move is now, as everything has fallen into place. She will be living in her Dads house with her twin brother and another flatmate. Her Dad doesn't live there anymore, he has moved further up North. Its been nice having her live so close all these years and I am going to miss her, but she is only going to be about a 3 hour drive away. Like I said to her, if it doesn't work out, she has nothing really to lose, she can come back here anytime. 

Have my CT Scan tomorrow morning, then have my specialist appointment June 10th, still a long way away but time is going to so fast, it will be here before I know it. We have decided to stay with the Tauranga doctor, rather than the Hamilton one, just for the reasons Tauranga is less than an hour away, and he is a hand surgeon specialist.

So thats whats been happening with me over the last 48 hours or so.

Day 53 on WW.....

FRIDAY:

Today I did go to the gym and I weighed in, can I use yesterdays weigh in, where I only had a 400 gram gain lol. Instead I gained 1.1 Kilos, I am hoping this will be the last gain for a while, I just keep flipping yo-yoing.... but now I am back into a routine, where David is back at work, and I can get myself back on track. I know him being home should not be an excuse to pig out - but.......

So anyway on to the good stuff - as said above I went to the gym, I didn't do a huge workout as my arm/hand was really sore, think it is the cold mornings which are affecting it. I only did the bike and some lower body machines.


Tomorrow I have a client and no other plans for the weekend at this stage.

Feijoas, OMG I love them so much and love this time of the year for them - this is pure bliss :)

For breakfast I had banana pancakes with Maple Syrup for a whole 3 points :).

Am going to post this now, may come back and add to it or may not lol. Am thinking I may do daily posts, and come back and update throughout the day if anything more happens.

Day 50, 51 and 52 on WW...

TUESDAY:

With all these holidays, I am confused on what day it is, I went to the gym and did the bike and upper body strength training - yeah I know I shouldn't be doing it, but am only using a 1 kilo weight, and psychologically it does me the world of good, and as long as I wear the splint, it seems to be ok. Well ok thats a lie it does hurt, and I probably shouldn't be doing it, but like I said psychologically it is doing me the world of good. 


Well that popcorn, was bloody disgusting, it may be low in points but it ain't even worth it, so it has gone in the bin, serves me right for buying cheap lol. 

Ok I am going to need ideas, after surgery for 1 month, I am unable to do anything with my arm (left hand/arm, and I am right handed), with the type of cast, I am unable to drive and am not allowed to use it at all for anything. I need ideas on what I can do to fill up time for those weeks, after 4 weeks I am still going to have limited movement and will be doing hand therapy. Basically I have about 4 weeks to kill, where I have no use of the hand, then I have 4 weeks, with limited movement, and then following those 8 weeks, I can start using it more and more. There is only so much Netflix I can watch lol. 

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY:

What the.... it is now Thursday - I have completely lost the week, David has been home and I am right out of my routine.... everything wise. Should have gone to the gym today, but due to lack of sleep (family stuff), and just feeling like crap, I missed the gym this morning. Food each day has started off well but yesterday and today is just a day of food I should not be having.....

David goes back to work tomorrow and back next week properly again, I am looking forward to it, I hate my routine being out of whack. 

So not much more to report, going to the gym tomorrow morning, some nail clients in the afternoon, and client on Saturday morning and gym Sunday :).

So thats it for now, was looking forward to weigh in, but after today and yesterday's stress eat I am not so much now. 

But you know what, its a new day and week tomorrow and I will get back on track :)

Day 48 & 49 on WW

SUNDAY:

David ended up staying the night at his sisters place, as his brother is also up from Wellington and staying there. It was nice to sleep with no snoring lol.

Today was going to go to the gym, but decided to do an at home cardio workout courtesy of 'HASfit', kinda enjoyed it lol - nice for a change, anyway still burnt a nice amount of active calories. I also did some core work after :).


Tomorrow will be a gym day, prob just make it a cardio day, seeing as the workout this morning had a combination of upper body and lower body. 

Might do some nail swatches later today.....

It's so hard when you have a child that is hurting, once they reach adulthood, a hug just know longer fixes everything, yet in a mothers eye's they are still so little and all you want to do as as a parent is protect them. 

MONDAY:

Did go to the gym today, even though I didn't feel like it, I slept like crap, it was pissing down with rain and just felt blah.... I was also really sore from yesterdays workout cause I didn't wear a splint. 

But I did go, I did 30 minutes bike ride, and did 3 leg machines......


I am planning to go again tomorrow, and plan to do 30 minutes bike again and not sure what else, will depend on how my wrist/arm feels. 

Went to Reduced to Clear and found these 2 Scooby dog toys, for only $1.99 each, the dogs love them - not the best of photos and yes we have 2 rugs in the kitchen cause Rusty likes to run and get his toy from there, and the wooden floor is to slippery on his knees.... Might go back tomorrow and get some more toys for when these ones get ripped apart  lol.



I was proud of myself, we all know they have all this cheap junk food, like 3 huge KitKat Mint chocolates for $5.00 - happens to my most favourite chocolate but I left it there, though I did buy a bag of popcorn which I will track.

Day 46 and 47 on WW......

FRIDAY:

Today is Good Friday, I went to the gym and did strength training and the bike. Yeah I know it is probably not the best idea to be doing upper body, but did only use 1 kilo weights, and some of the time, I only used the hand weight on the good side (right). 

So this is my effort for the day :)


I plan to go tomorrow or Sunday again but will focus on the core. 

For dinner we had KFC, I have allowed myself 1 free meal a week, well I suppose it is not really free, I just dont track, but then  usually have all my weekly points left over and a few exercise points, so thats what I use that for. 


SATURDAY:

Decided to not go to the gym today, I was pretty sore, so will go tomorrow and do a core workout.

David went to his sisters today for the day, I didn't want to go..... so had a bit of a lazy day, till I got the urge to defrost the second freezer, god knows why we purchased a freezer that does not auto defrost, I will never know. Lucky it is only small :).

David is on holiday all next week, well actually thats not true, he has to work Friday, and on the Monday 29th I have my CT scan - god I better get some answers. 

I am planning to stay on track all week, this week. This morning we did a grocery shop and I ignored all the chocolate easter eggs and junk food, instead I got myself some rice crackers, which is what I eat when I feel like munching. My gym goal is to go Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday :). 

Tomorrow I might go to the market at the Lakeside, been a long time since I last went, and also be on the lookout for some feijoas. 

Anyway thats it, I am pretty sore now after doing the freezer, and regret it now but too late to think about that now :(.

Day 44 and 45 on WW.....

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY:

Not a lot to report, no gym yesterday or today, today I didn't go as I have a busy nail day, all wanting to get their nails done before Easter. Most of my clients have got the week of next week, so they are going away as well, with it being school holidays. 

Food has been on track, planing to go to the gym tomorrow and either Saturday or Sunday.

Have my CT Scan booked for April 29th, so that is much quicker than I thought it would be. After that I should get some answers on the type of surgery they will be doing. 

Anyway have a client soon, so will get this published and catch you all in a couple of days.

Happy Easter and please drive safe if you are travelling - we have had to many fatalities on our roads this year, especially in the last few weeks.

Days 41, 42 and 43 on WW....

SUNDAY:

Not a lot to report - didn't stick to my plan, simple as........


MONDAY:

Today I went to the gym and did some upper body stuff, using 1 kilo weights, I am not going to lie, I was in pain for the rest of the day, but not bad enough that I wont do it again. 

Food was perfect today, and felt good to be doing some other stuff at the gym :).


So a good day today and it ended well :). 

TUESDAY:

Another gym session today, did the bike and core work, I could tell I had not done much lately, my stomach muscles got a good workout. Its good to know that somewhere under all this fat is some muscles lol. 

My wrist/hand is feeling pretty stiff and tight today, I am going to play it day by day on what I will do exercise wise. Psychologically adding to the gym programme has made me feel so much better, so am really hoping  can continue with it, without doing to much damage.


No gym tomorrow (Day Off), or Thursday as I have a busy day of clients, I normally limit them but as it is Easter, they all want to come in beforehand. Am planning to go to the gym Friday/Saturday and Monday.

Day 37 - 40 on WW

SATURDAY:

Ok lets go back to Wednesday, when I had the specialist appointment, lets just say it didn't go as planned.....

Basically there is another delay as the ultrasound, does not give enough info, he is not sure if the screws actually caused the rupture, one thing for certain is that there is a rupture, and thats the only certain thing. So now I have to go for a CT Scan or MRI, not sure if we can do a CT scan due to the metalware in my wrist, he is going to find out and get either one done. If it is not the screws causing the rupture, then the metalware will stay in, so thats a bonus. Another thing is that if it is a straight rupture caused by something else, this doctor might be able to do it under a local anaesthetic, but if not then he has to do a referral to an orthopaedic specialist, which will delay things by another 4 - 8 weeks, as it will require a general anaesthetic.

They have said they will not be removing or doing anything where the rupture's ends, (one end in the arm, the other in the top of the hand), as it has been 6 months since it happened and it will have fused to a bone or something like that. This is what is causing a lot of pain, he has said hopefully the pain will go, otherwise it might always be there. 

I have not cancelled my Tauranga appointment, with the actual hand surgeon (June 10th), I have approached ACC and am thinking of just going with him now, and they can't see it as a problem, as by the time they do the CT Scan/MRI and get another appointment with the Hamilton doctor, we will be looking at close to June 10th anyway. I am also thinking a second opinion wont be a bad thing. The only reason I changed to this Hamilton doctor was because he could see me quicker. 

I have been angry/frustrated/pissed and every other emotion I could do over the last few days. I have also been thinking about the gym and thinking that if I have to do just the bike/treadmill/elliptical for the next how many months, I am going to go loopy. So have made a decision to add some more exercises in, I am going to TRY and not be stupid and overdo things, but no promises. I suppose if I do more damage I might get seen quicker lol. I am going to set up a programme this weekend, and I am also going to add a gym session on the weekend as well. This will take me to 5 sessions a week. I suppose a positive of the delay is that I have more time to get healthier and fitter.

So all this now delays things another few weeks/months, which led me to frustration, which we all know what that means 'FOOD". I have eaten anything I wanted and didn't give a shit, but this can not continue, I am not weighing in this week as I am in denial, but I am tracking my food as from today again, and wont weigh in till Friday and hopefully any damage I have done, will be undone by then. I also have a slightly busier week with nails, so that will help to keep me a bit busier, I keep thinking oh bugga, I will wait till Monday to get back on track, and I am struggling today but am really hope I can get through today tracking and staying within my points.... one day at a time. 

Autumn is well and truly here, and winter isn't far behind, today we have alow of 4 degree's what the...... that is to bloody cold.

Day 35 & 36 on WW

MONDAY:

Today I have decided to do my at home workout, which means using the stepper and swiss-ball, and will go for a walk, while it is a nice day out there :).

I have just watched a programme "Back in Time for the Weekend" on the Living Channel, I love those programmes, this weeks it was in the 50's, next week it is the 60's, they go through till the 90's :).

Oh man it looks like the weather is packing up, suppose to get some rain this afternoon, and it looks like it. It is getting darker and colder by the minute. 

Well it rained and got miserable, so we put the heater on, and the dogs loved it :).

TUESDAY:

Not sure if I mentioned it, that weigh day has changed to Friday, I have a buddy that I am accountable to, and we can get together Fridays for weigh ins. 

Went to the gym today, and did the bike, elliptical and a few lower body machines. 

I am starting to get a bit nervous about the specialist appointment tomorrow, I am so scared surgery is going to be months and months away. 

Today has turned out to be a lovely day 21 degrees, and the sun is streaming in and the dogs are loving it.

Day 33 & 34 on WW

SATURDAY:

Well today didn't go quite as planned, had a bit of a family emergency, which meant lack of sleep, and didn't get to the gym or for a walk as planned, but thats ok, just got to be careful that I dont use food as a stress relief. 

Did go to the Farmers Market and had my Dutch croquettes - yummmmmm. I didn't have the bread and butter, and didn't put any mustard on, I love them just the way they are. They are 5 points each plus the deep fryer oil. I am going to buy a small pack and see how they go in the air fryer, that would be awesome if they do :). 

Anyway feeling a bit like a zombie, the pain is bad, am really hoping it is not nerve pain, cause bloody hell when it comes, it hurts so much.... anyway Wednesday is only 4 sleeps away.


SUNDAY:

3 sleeps now till the specialist appointment, can you tell I am a bit excited - it can't come soon enough. 

Am feeling so much better after a decent sleep, well a semi-decent sleep anyway. Daylight saving ended this weekend :(.

OMG the last couple of days have got so cold, we have even put the electric blanket on low, am dragging out the winter clothes and the woollen blankets. Though it is beautiful and sunny out there but chilly - a high of 16 degree's today bbbbrrrrrrrrr.

Things at home are still a bit stressed between David and I, he has a week of soon, the Easter/ANZAC holidays, it seems nearly everybody I know is taking the three days off for an 8 day holiday (or something like that). 

Anyway a new week begins tomorrow - going to the gym, Monday and Tuesday and Hamilton Wednesday :)

Day 31 & 32 on WW

THURSDAY:

Went to the gym today, did the bike, elliptical and lower body - was not in the mood for the treadmill, might go for a walk later on today after my client.

No walk in the end, feels good to be back on track. Am thinking of documenting my food on here, starting next week, that way I can document my upcoming surgery as well - not sure if I will do small videos or just photos, will think about it over the weekend :)

Have a told you that I have the specialist appointment in 5 sleeps lol, cant bloody wait, but am nervous about how long I will have to wait for surgery, I am thinking a couple of months... 

Tonight for dinner we had taco shells with mince (extra lean), tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce. For breakfast I had left over mushrooms and chicken tenderloins, well it was more lunch than breakfast.I still tend to have only 2 meals a day, most days.

Anyway thats it for today :)


FRIDAY:

Today I went to the gym, did the bike - still doing interval training,  and upped it by 1 minute lol, I then did the lower body machines, came home and went for a small walk, thought while it was an ok day, I would go outside and get some fresh air instead of a treadmill... and besides real walking outside is harder than any treadmill, well it is for me. 

Daylight savings ends here in New Zealand this weekend, feel a bit sad, means winter is on its way, the nights are really getting colder :(. 

OMG 'Pat Menzies' is stocking the the Vans dedicated to David Bowie, just been watching his documentary on Netflix while working out. I am going to have to get a pair, ok maybe not the one I want has sold out in my size, they were only released at 9.30am this morning :(.

Day 29 & 30 & Weigh In

TUESDAY:

Weighed in and as expected I had a gain of 600 grams, so now down to 6.4 Kilos gone in 4 weeks - averaging a weekly loss of 1.6 Kilos.

Ok was already to go to the gym, and our toilet sprung a leak, so spent a while cleaning that mess up - not the toilet itself but the cistern.... so till the plumber comes, we have to turn the tap on every-time we go to the loo, flush it and turn the tap off. The plumber hopes to come later this afternoon or first thing tomorrow morning, if they cant get here today. It had been leaking for a couple of days, but it had got worse over night. We didn't really know where it was leaking from till this morning, as it was just a teeny tiny amount. 

And by then the motivation to go to the gym was over BUT WAIT, I may not have gone to the gym, but I did go for a walk outside, you know that wide open space which has plenty of fresh air, sunlight and a nice cool breeze, and I actually enjoyed it - well kind of anyway lol. It was a bit different to walking on the treadmill, (a lot harder)so am thinking I might do an outside walk on a more regular basis. I also got the swissball out, pumped it up and did some core work, felt really good and then did some step ups. So all in all not a bad workout if I do say so myself :). 

After that did my own nails, that killed a couple of hours, and that was my day.


WEDNESDAY:

Oh man, I have woken up stiff as - obviously used some muscles I had forgotten I had, but it feels good. I did an unofficial weigh in, as I wanted to see what it was this morning, only up 150 grams now phew...... now I am not weighing till Tuesday :)

Not sure if I will go to the gym tomorrow, or go for another walk and do some at home core exercises.

Dinner tonight is chicken tenderloins, with some type of seasoning done in the air-fryer, (yet to decide what I will put on them), mushrooms cooked with bacon and pumpkin soup. It's getting cold enough for soup now :).

Toilet is fixed, plumber has been and put in a new cistern - looks nice in there, the one we had was quite an old one.

Day 27 & 28 on WW

SUNDAY:

Right am back on track with posting, if you had read my last post, you would have seen that I had gone completely of the rails...


Anyway today is a new day, I am not going to lie, I feel a bit crappy, sore throat, the pain in my wrist/arm, is playing havoc, I really hope the surgery is not to far away. 10 sleeps till the specialist appointment...... it cant come soon enough.

I did a Sephora order about 2 weeks, ago ordered some lipstick, well they sent me the wrong one - I dont even notice till I got an email saying they had sent the wrong one, but to keep it and they have given me a $40 credit for when the one I ordered comes back in stock, then yesterday they have upgraded me to Gold Membership, I was Black and was aiming for Gold, but they have upgraded me now for 12 months, whoohoo lol. I ordered the Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick in 'Pay Day' and they sent me 'Joy Ride' instead. I also purchased the Huda Beauty metallic lipstick in 'Cake Day', it is gorgeous. 

Fuck this house is stressful, I am short tempered, David is short tempered and that makes a house full of dynamite. Every-time we speak to each other, it turns into an argument. 

And yes I fucking ate...... 

Right a few hours on, am feeling full from being a pig, but am ready to put this behind me and move forward, I am not going to let these 3 days beat me, I am stronger than that. 

MONDAY:

Ok a new day and I am back on track, I did a sneak weigh in and have gained, but not surprised, considering I have had 3 days of bad eating. 

Guess what, I can now say I have the specialist appointment next week, seems to have been a long time coming. 

This morning I didn't go to the gym, the weather was just to yukk - (rainy and windy), but I did some moving of furniture, I moved a few desks around, so that my makeup desk is by a window. The house we live in is really dark, though it has a lot of windows, being surrounded by huge tree's it blocks a lot of light. I would love to get a skylight in the kitchen area. Maybe one day, but dont want to spend too much on the house, as we will be selling in the next few years. 

For dinner I made a low point meal, Curried Prawns, was going to have it with rice but dont think we need too, with the zucchini noodles in it. 1 serve is only 3 points :). It is really yumm, had some for lunch :). I love to prepare the meal earlier in the day as later in the day, the pain just gets to much :). 


Feeling good to be back on track, and hoping if I have a lower point day today, it might help with some of the gain.....
